Launching Fall 2025
The Student Referral Program (SRP) is a proactive approach to connecting students with the services they need at critical moments. Instructors identify students in their current classes who may be at risk of falling behind due to academic, personal, or behavioral challenges. Instead of waiting for students to seek help on their own, instructors can refer them to the appropriate resources for timely and targeted invitations of support.
Early intervention is key in the SRP, helping address small issues before they develop into larger, more complex problems. Often, instructors and students may not be aware of all the available resources that can assist students and how to refer to those resources. The Student Referral Program consolidates these resources into one place, making it easier for instructors to connect students with the help they need.
The Student Referral Program promotes student success and well-being by ensuring students are aware of the resources available to them. It demonstrates that the faculty and staff at KPU care about individual students and their needs.
KPU has had an active referral program in place for over 10 years. Currently, we receive between 1800 to 2000 referrals a year.

What's New?
This Student Referral Program will be hosted through KPU’s new online service portal, myKPU. Staff and faculty will have access to myKPU starting in May 2025. Support Referrals will include new partners - Library Services, Indigenous Services for Students, and Career Services. It will also include a new referral menu which is clearer about which service you are referring to.
Student Referrals are confidential. They trigger an invitation to engage with a specific service area above. Student responses to these referrals are voluntary.
