The Carnegie initiative for the Advancement of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) Leadership Cluster to which Kwantlen Polytechnic University belongs consists of:
- Ohio State University (coordinating institution)
- Dartmouth College
- Kwantlen Polytechnic University
- Queen's University
- Ryerson University
- Southeast Missouri State University
- University of Glasgow
We are seven diverse institutions whose purpose is to work collaboratively to develop local multidisciplinary communities, integrated with others worldwide.
We focus on the overarching goals:
- Influencing academic culture to recognize a continuum of SoTL activities;
- Establishing common and rigorous outcome measures with personal, professional, and programmatic implications;
- Disseminating successful SoTL initiatives.
In these ways, we are building awareness, understanding, support, and practice of SoTL, within and beyond local communities.
We have met face to face once in November, 2006 in Washington, DC, and again in May 2007, at the OSU in Ohio. Each member of the cluster is pursuing individual and institutional goals while sharing with the other members and looking for points of synergy that will boost all members.
