Design Open Lab Workshop

Open Lab provides registered participants with independent access to the designated workshop within the School of Design’s shared maker space environment. This offering is designed for students and community members who already have experience working in workshop settings and are ready to advance their own projects using professional tools and machinery.

Participants will have access to a range of workshop tools and equipment during scheduled Open Lab hours.

Participants planning to use the workshop are expected to bring their own materials and supplies.

All participants must successfully complete the required Lab Safety Training prior to accessing the space. A Lab Technician will be on site during Open Lab hours to answer general questions and provide equipment refreshers as needed.

Previous experience working in a workshop environment and using woodworking equipment is required. Open Labs are not instructional and are intended for independent, self-directed work.
