Students from Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s (KPU) Brewing and Brewery Operations have developed and brewed their own unique beer which has hit the taps at CAMP Beer Co. in Langley.

There is a total of six beers being showcased at the brewery. The goal is to give students the opportunity to be creative and come up with a unique flavour for their creations.

Second year brewing student, Xingheng (Helia) Xiang had her beer released mid-November. She says her and her brewing partner had been fine-tuning their Gose beer recipe since October in hopes of impressing anyone who gave it a taste.

“Our beer’s name is Orchill. It opens with a juicy apricot and finishes light and fresh like a warm breeze through an orchard,” says Xiang.

The next two beers hitting the taps is Bellezapom Pomegranate Saison, a sour wine-like beer and Wee Sweet Scotch Ale, a sweet, desert-like ale.

The final two Student Pioneer Tap Series beers will be released on Dec. 4 and Dec. 11 at CAMP Beer Co. The event is open to all who want to try a one-of-a-kind signature beer.
