We offer students exceptional, hands-on opportunities to connect with the fashion industry at every level. Students attend and volunteer at leading industry events such as Indigenous Fashion Week, Vancouver Fashion Week and Apparel Camp, and gain behind-the-scenes insight through tours of successful retail businesses including Hill’s of Kerrisdale and JAC. Students also learn directly from respected industry professionals, including editorial leaders like Janet Smith (formerly of the Georgia Straight), alongside faculty who bring years of real-world experience and strong professional networks. These immersive, career-building experiences set the Fashion Marketing program apart and prepare students for success in today’s fashion industry.

Career Information

Fashion marketing is the process of managing the flow of merchandise, from the initial selection of designs to be produced to the presentation of products to retail customers, with the goal of maximizing a company's sales and profitability. Successful fashion marketing depends on understanding consumer desire and responding with appropriate messages, materials and execution of marketing plans.

In just two years, you’ll be ready for a career in the fashion industry in:

Many of our graduates are entrepreneurs, leading socially responsible businesses, ranging from lifestyle photography to creative consultancy while others hold management positions in fashion and design-related companies.

Some graduates pursue further education, applying to enter the third year of one of KPU’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree programs, our pathway program with Nottingham Trent University or any faculty of interest.
