Job Overview:
The Brewer and Beverage Production Specialist will be responsible for the creation and production of new beverage products, collaborate on beer and brewing – using our automated 10 BBL 3 Vessel brewhouse, ensure quality processes and drive innovation in our production facility. This role requires a balance of hands-on production and brewing experience, technical expertise, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for crafting outstanding beverages. The ideal candidate will have both practical experience in a brewery setting and formal technical credentials in brewing, food science, or a related field. A full-time permanent position, this job starts asap.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Beverage production and brewing
- Lead the development of new recipes, RTD beverages, and seasonal releases
- Oversee quality control protocols from raw materials to finished products
- Develop and implement sensory evaluation programs to ensure flavor consistency
- Maintain and enforce strict sanitation and safety procedures
- Conduct laboratory testing, including pH, gravity, and microbiological analysis
- Work closely with the brewing and packaging teams to ensure best practices implementation
- Manage ingredient sourcing and experiment with new raw materials
- Maintain detailed records of product trials, test batches, and quality data
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement continuous improvement process
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align product development with brand strategy
- Research and develop new RTD beverage formulations, including hard seltzers, canned cocktails, and other craft innovations
- Stay up to date on industry trends, innovations, and brewing techniques
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of brewing experience in a commercial brewery or beverage production facility
- Formal brewing education (e.g., certificate or degree in Brewing Science, Food Science, or a related field) preferred
- Strong understanding of brewing chemistry, microbiology, food safety and sensory analysis
- Hands-on experience with quality control procedures and lab testing
- Experience developing RTD beverages, hard seltzers, or similar products preferred
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift 55+ lbs, maneuver kegs, and work in a physically demanding environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Passion for craft beer and a drive for continuous improvement
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Valid Driver’s License
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Pay Range: 50,000-70,000
