We are Parallel 49 Brewing Company, a craft brewery based in the heart of East Vancouver. We were founded in 2012 by passionate craft beer enthusiasts and have quickly become a staple in the Canadian craft beer scene. As a Brewer at Parallel 49 Brewing Company, you will be an integral part of our brewing team, responsible for producing high-quality craft beers that meet our standards of excellence. This role involves hands-on brewing, monitoring fermentation, maintaining equipment, and ensuring all aspects of the brewing process are executed with precision. The ideal candidate is not only passionate about craft beer but also possesses a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe brewing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Brewing Operations: Execute all aspects of the brewing process, including mashing, lautering, boiling, fermenting and conditioning. Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks throughout the brewing process to ensure consistency and adherence to our high-quality standards.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on brewing equipment and troubleshoot basic issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. Report all major issues to the Maintenance team and the Brew Team Manager.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records in the enterprise resource planning system of all brewing activities, including ingredient measurements, brewing parameters, and quality control data.
Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to all safety protocols and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including fellow brewers, cellar workers, and packaging staff, to ensure smooth communication and efficient operations.
Experience and Skills:
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of previous experience in a brewing role within a large craft brewery environment.
- Knowledge of brewing processes, equipment, and quality control measures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality beer.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills. Education Requirements Formal brewing education or certification is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
- This position requires work in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, loud noises, and potential hazards.
Pay Range: $28.56
