High Key Brewing Co. is expanding rapidly, and we’re seeking an experienced Brewer & Production Manager who is dedicated to quality, process discipline, and leading a high performing brewing team. As a key leader in our production team, you will collaborate closely with our Head Brewer and ownership group to ensure every batch, from lagers to seasonals to new beverage innovations, meets the high standards our customers expect.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Brewing and Cellar Operations:
• Lead brew days and fermentation milestones
• Maintain consistency in mash profiles, fermentation curves, and wort production
• Troubleshoot fermentation problems and check for off-flavours
• Review logs, coach brewers, and support cellar operations

Quality and Process Control
• Own product quality from brewhouse to packaging.
• Keep documentation aligned with HACCP standards
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Maintain yeast health, pitching rates, and oxygen levels
• Establish standards for analytical and sensory release

Leadership & Team Development
• Mentor and lead Brewers and Assistants
• Cultivate a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
• Offer coaching and performance feedback
• Work with Taproom leadership on product education

Production Planning & Scheduling
• Oversee the entire production schedule
• Work closely with the sales team to align production forecasting, seasonal releases, and wholesale demand
• Coordinate production priorities and seasonal releases
• Oversee ingredient stock and packaging supplies

SOPs & System Optimization
• Maintain and improve SOPs for brewing, cellar, packaging, and safety
• Review audit logs and verify documentation accuracy

Equipment Oversight
• Supervise maintenance and calibration of brewhouse and cellar equipment
• Assist with commissioning and troubleshooting of equipment

Inventory & Supplier Management
• Oversee raw material purchasing and forecasting
• Manage expenses and nurture supplier relationships

Innovation and Continuous Improvement
• Assist with recipe development and pilot batches
• Recommend improvements to process, efficiency, and equipment

Experience and Skills:

ABOUT YOU:
• Possess over 5 years of brewing experience, including leadership roles
• Bring solid technical brewing expertise
• Understand yeast management, water chemistry, and quality control
• Possess organization, communication, and accountability
• Possess strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Take pride in maintaining a safe and clean brewing environment

QUALIFICATIONS
• A certification or degree from a brewing institution is preferred
• Having an education in microbiology, chemistry, food science, or related fields is an asset.
• Proficient in computer software (Google Workspace, Brew Ninja), math, and documentation skills
• Ability to lift 22 kg and stand while working
• Knowledge of CIP, WHMIS, and safety procedures
• Willing to work rotating shifts

Pay Range (hourly or salary): $70,000 annually
