Job Description
Lakesider Brewing is seeking a Brewery Assistant to join our team. Our lively, West Kelowna-based brewery is growing, and we are looking to connect with the next generation of brewing professionals. Known for creating high quality easy-drinking beers, our taproom is among the busiest in town and our wholesale business is growing rapidly. Guided by active owners with a genuine love for craft beer, our mission is to build community through craft beer and memorable experiences that celebrate the Okanagan lifestyle.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage self and work environment to a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and sanitation
Support brew day under supervision of head brewer
Complete cellaring tasks as assigned by manager(s) (gravity & CO2 measurements, cold side additions, yeast harvesting / starters, carbonation, etc) • Complete packaging tasks as assigned by manager (canning day, keg filling, tank transfers)
Take responsibility for workplace safety (own and others)
Able to reliably follow processes with minimal supervision, executing tasks with high attention to detail
Execute CIP (clean in place) tasks as assigned by manager(s)
Bring a positive attitude to work every day, and make the work day better for others
Limit spoilage due to infection, oxidation, or other threats. Follow established processes and maintain a high degree of sanitation in all areas of the brewery
Experience and Skills:
Commercial production experience is an asset (beer, wine making, cider making, etc)
Experience brewing high quality lagers, IPAs, and other popula styles with detailed knowledge of process and risk factors
Home brewing experience required (samples may be requested)
Demonstrated knowledge of beer style guidelines and brewing processes
Open to new perspectives, ideas, and feedback
Able to lift 50lbs and move 140lbs objects
