Job Description
Faculty Brewing Co. is seeking a Brewery Director to take full operational command of our Mount Pleasant facility. As the owner transitions to a remote advisory role, we require a high-level leader to oversee the "entire glass"—from the brew deck to the tasting room floor and the business’s financial health. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced industry professional to run an established, turnkey brand in the heart of Brewery Creek with a high degree of autonomy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Production Management (50%):
Master Brewing: Full oversight and execution of the brewing schedule, recipe scaling, and cellar management on our 7hL system.
Quality & Innovation: Ensuring brand consistency while driving new product development and seasonal rotations.
Supply Chain: Managing all procurement, hop contracts, and raw material inventory.
Packaging & Maintenance: Overseeing canning runs, kegging turnover, and preventative maintenance for the brewhouse and cold block (including recently integrated canning and keg-washing assets).
Business Operations & Growth (50%) P&L Responsibility:
Managing labor costs, COGS, and driving taproom profitability.
Revenue Strategy: Leveraging the new Street Patio and expanded "To-Go" retail program to maximize high-margin sales.
Leadership: Hiring, training, and inspiring a high-performing tasting room team.
Stakeholder Management: Acting as the primary point of contact for the landlord, key vendors, and regulatory bodies (LCRB).
Experience and Skills:
Leadership Pedigree: 5+ years of professional brewing experience, with at least 2 years in a management or lead role.
Business Acumen: You understand that a brewery is a manufacturing plant attached to a retail store. You know how to balance both.
Autonomy: You are a problem-solver who thrives with minimal supervision. You treat the brewery’s reputation and assets as your own.
Community Driven: You are a known entity in the BC Craft Beer scene with a passion for the Mount Pleasant community.
