Sidekick Brewing is located in Chilliwack, BC on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish People, including the Stó:lō Nation. This is a part-time, hourly wage position at 20-25 hours per week. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a key member of Sidekick, you will support our vision of creating a beautiful gathering place for people from all walks of life. You will support the Head Brewer with critical aspects of the beer production process with a passion for quality craft beer, a strong understanding of the brewing processes, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality. 

This includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities: 

  • Fermentation Management: Monitoring and managing the fermentation process, including measuring gravity, pH, and temperature.
  • Tank Cleaning and Sanitization: Cleaning and sanitizing fermentation tanks, brite tanks, and other equipment to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination.
  • Yeast Handling: Harvesting, pitching, and maintaining yeast cultures to ensure healthy fermentation.
  • Transferring Beer: Transferring beer between tanks (e.g., from fermenters to brite tanks) while minimizing oxygen exposure.
  • Carbonation: Carbonating beer to desired levels, ensuring proper CO2 volumes are achieved.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of all cellar activities, including fermentation logs, cleaning schedules, and inventory management.
  • Quality Control: Conducting quality control checks, such as taste testing and sampling, to ensure product consistency and quality.
  • Packaging Support: Assisting with the packaging process, including kegging, bottling, or canning beer.
  • Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on cellar equipment to ensure everything operates smoothly and efficiently. Safety Compliance: Following all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.
  • Inventory Management: Managing inventory of raw materials, cleaning supplies, and finished products within the cellar. Maintain the cleanliness of brewery equipment including, but not limited to, kegs, tanks, hoses, gaskets, etc.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with brewers and other staff to ensure smooth production flow and address any issues promptly. All other duties as assigned Brewing to spec when needed.
