Beginning January 2026, KPU student email accounts will be retained for four years following the last class attended. After this period, the account will be retired, and all contents will be permanently deleted.

Student Email Retention Change

Who is Affected?

  • Former students who have not taken classes in the past four years
For example: If your last class was in December 2023, your email will be retired in January 2028
  • Alumni who graduated four or more years ago

What’s Changing?

  • Student email accounts will be retired four years after the last class attended
  • If a student returns to KPU, their email address will be reactivated—but previous emails will not be restored

When Will This Happen?

  • The policy takes effect January 2026
  • Email retirements will be processed semester by semester

What Should You Do?

  • If you are no longer enrolled in classes, applied for the current semester, or have graduated, please transition to a personal email platform before your KPU email account is deactivated.

  • Back up any important emails or files well in advance
