Policy Studies Olive Branch Award

The Policy Studies Olive Branch Award celebrates Palestinian and Indigenous resistance, and land stewardship. Inspired by Greta Thunberg's profound motto, "No Climate Justice on Occupied Land," this award seeks to deepen understand and support for movements that challenge settler-colonial violence and envisio decolonial futures for Palestinian and Indigenous communities.

This Award is open to students that have completed or registered in Policy Studi (POST) courses at KPU who demonstrate leadership and commitment through community service, activism, or volunteer work that uplifts and empowers marginalized, least-advantaged, and equity-deserving communities.

It celebrates students who actively engage in projects, organizations, or initiatives promoting social justice, policy innovation, and community advocacy with a particular emphasis on social and environmental justice efforts. Preference will be given to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) students, especially those indigenous to the unceded traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples of the xməəkwəyəm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səlilwǝtat (Tsleil-Waututh) ġiċǝy (Katzie), SEMYOME (Semiahmoo),scǝwalən məsteyǝx" (Tsawwassen), qiqéyt (Qayqayt), kwikwǝXǝm (Kwikwetlem), and the q'a:nλ'ǝn (Kwantlen) Nations and to the SWANA (Southwest Asia and North Africa) region.
