Employees and Generative AI at KPU

Employees at KPU, whether they are faculty or staff, engage with Generative AI in a wide variety of ways, from teaching practices in the classroom to communications for university business. KPU recommends that employees keep the following guidelines in mind while developing their Gen AI knowledge and skills.

  • Faculty members have autonomy in determining appropriate AI use within their courses, using permitted technology within the parameters set out in the Teaching Guidance provided by the Teaching and Learning Commons.
  • Staff members should consider how they engage with Generative AI within the guidelines established by Human Resources.

This website was developed to provide a centralized location for guidelines and resources being developed for Generative AI use at KPU and is maintained by the Generative AI Steering Committee. The composition of the committee includes representation from faculty members, Student Affairs, Information Technology, Human Resources, the Office of Research Services, Office of the General Counsel, Office of Equity and Inclusive Communities, the Teaching and Learning Commons, and the Office of the Provost.  For more information, contact the GenAI Steering Committee Co-Chairs, Leeann Waddington and David Burns.
