Poonam obtained her B.Sc. (Agriculture Honours) M.Sc. Landscaping and Floriculture from the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India, and Ph.D (Horticulture) from the Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, India. She has more than eleven years of experience in teaching and research while working as a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, India and as an Assistant Professor at the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India. Her research areas include crop improvement through breeding programs, enrichment of germplasm for genetic enhancement, and development of new technologies in ornamental crops. Presently she is working on standardizing the methods of development, and applying the molecular tools for the entomopathogen product development.
