Current and Pending Projects: Aboriginal Youth Justice Programme (Vancouver Police Department) Evaluating Accounting Law Reforms (In Development)
"I am generally interested in criminal justice policy development and evaluation. My research over the last several years has focused on identifying the causes of Aboriginal over representation in Canadian prisons and evaluating criminal justice responses to this phenomenon. I have recently been collaborating with the Vancouver Police Department, Aboriginal service providers, and other Kwantlen staff in the development of the Aboriginal Youth Justice Programme. My research interests have also focused on the impact of mental illness on Canadian correctional administration. At present, I have developed an interest in issues surrounding white-collar and occupational criminality and am in the early stages of developing research to evaluate reforms to accounting practices and public perceptions, knowledge of, and engagement in tax evasion."
