Alana Abramson is a passionate educator, dedicated to enhancing student experiences in the classroom. She believes education can inspire personal and social change and enjoys learning with her students. Alana bridges the community with education, providing opportunities for her students to be in the criminal legal field and learn from those who have directly experienced it. She uses experiential and transformative learning techniques, storytelling, and guest speakers to engage students.

Alana is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the diverse and dedicated Criminology Department at KPU. She currently resides in Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc territory (Kamloops) and loves vegan food, skiing, travel, being in nature, and her four cat Steve-O, Leonard, Micki and Timothy Tiger Sharks.

Areas of Interest

Alana has examined the roles that police and community play in restorative justice. She also has explored the role of post-secondary education in advancing the theory and practices of restorative justice in community and social institutions.
