About the Students
For second-year KPU Brewing & Brewery Operations diploma students Mark Yates and Leone Dutra, Bad Habits was a recipe inspired by a love of beer and music.
Mark comes from a background in hospitality management and pursued an education in brewing for a more rewarding and challenging career. He’s currently working in production and packaging at The Parkside Brewery in Port Moody. Mark also plays guitar and is a vinyl album collector.
Leone is from Sao Paulo, Brazil and has a passion for pairing food and beverages as a beer sommelier. In Brazil, they don’t have maple syrup, so he was inspired to add the maple flavouring to Bad Habits. Leone is currently a brewer at MOD Beverage.
