Planning your career is a tough task for any student but some Indigenous students may have additional concerns. According to the 2018 OECD report cited by this article in The Globe and Mail, Indigenous people are significantly under-represented in management, business and finance.

The Inclusion Network is a fast growing network of Indigenous Candidates and inclusive employers-of-choice. The number of Candidates registered on the Inclusion Network has increased by over 70 per cent in the past two years! The Métis National British Columbia administers the Métis Employment & Training Program (METP) to improve the employment potential, earning capacity and self-sufficiency of Métis people in British Columbia.

Find an Indigenous service delivery organization in your community to assist with a variety of employment services based on the needs and priorities of First Nations, Inuit, Métis and urban/non-affiliated Indigenous people. These organizations provide a suite of skills development and job training while also offering a range of wrap-around services (such as help with child care supports and transportation) while you're training to achieve your long-term career goals.
