WHAT IS DECLARATION?
Declaration is selecting the program (certificate, diploma, degree) that you are planning to graduate with. Undeclared students must declare their program of study before they graduate. You can declare online via the Online Self-Service portal. For HOW to declare, please visit this page: https://www.kpu.ca/declaration
CAN YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND?
Yes, you can. If you are declared in one program and want to change your program, you can choose to declare in a new program.
WHEN SHOULD I DECLARE?
You can declare once you’ve met the declaration requirements listed in KPU’s Academic Calendar for your program.
There are deadlines for declaration each semester if you would like to change your declaration status for the following semester. The dates are included here: https://www.kpu.ca/declaration
WHY SHOULD I DECLARE?
Declaration is required before you graduate with a certificate, diploma, or degree. It may help you access program-restricted courses in some programs. If you are over 60 credits of study, then it will also give you an earlier registration date. There are also some scholarships and awards that are specifically for declared students in different programs.
