Program Overview

Students in the ELS program focus on improving their English proficiency for university studies by completing courses focused on Reading/Writing skills and on Listening/Speaking skills. Within these paired skill courses, students work explicitly on vocabulary and grammar. When possible, we offer 3-credit electives that focus on Pronunciation and on Grammar. See chart below for the progression through each level of the ELS program.

Options

  • Students can study full or part time.
  • Students may take one course at a time or work towards a Diploma.
  • Students in the upper two levels may take one or two undergraduate courses from a prescribed list.
  • Students may use level 3 ELS courses for full admission to university studies.
