Through the ARTS 4800 Practicum course our students apply the academic knowledge and analytical skills learned in the classroom in a workplace environment. For more information, please take a moment to watch our practicum informational video.
Each of the following courses contains an experiential learning component; that is, an opportunity to get real-world experience doing either by doing research in a real-world setting (museums, archives, etc.) or by developing historical materials such as apps and video games, with guidance from our KPU instructors:
Kwantlen History Students' Society
The KPU History Students' Society was founded in 2006 to promote activities related to the study of history at KPU. All students currently taking history courses are welcome to join this student-led club.
Upcoming events will include movie nights, trivia contests, pop-up historical talks, and more! By joining the KHSS early in your degree, you will also benefit from mentoring by more senior students. This can be an invaluable key to success in your History studies.
Check the KHSS Facebook page and Instagram @kpu_hs for more information.
The Emergent Historian
KPU History is proud to host one of KPU's longest-running undergraduate journals. Each year we showcase the very best of our student's work in a journal published in-house, but archived via LIbrary and Archives Canada.
For the most recent version of the journal (Vol. 7 Spring-Summer 2020) click here: The Emergent Historian Vol.7 Digital Edition.pdf
