Welcome from the Chair:

Welcome to History at KPU! Whether you are a prospective student, just taking a class or two with us, or you've already declared your History major or minor, we are so happy to have the opportunity to work and learn with you in our classes. History courses cover a wide range of topics and content, so you're sure to find something to interest you, and you can take classes online or in person. Please check out our Future Course Offerings page for a preview of what we'll be teaching in the next little while.

One of the best things about the History department is the sense of communnity that we strive to create. Our profs are dedicated to their craft, and also care deeply about students' concerns, so we're always happy to chat with you about your studies or anything else you might need on campus. We also offer our students exciting academic opportunities like publishing their research in our student journal, the "Emergent Historian", as well as the chance to meet each other socially for events like historically-themed movie nights, and we are always your biggest supporters when the time finally comes for you to walk across the stage at convocation.

We're here to help you meet your academic goals, but we also want you to feel part of that History community. Please feel free to drop by Maple 2850 whenever you're on Surrey campus, to say hello, enjoy a restful place to study or relax, or meet your profs for office hours. We love getting to know new students, and reconnecting with our awesome alumni: whether you're just at the beginning of your time at KPU, or you've already graduated, we definitely want to hear about your ideas and experiences with History.
