The KPU Psychology Department is pleased to present 2 x $1,500 of the Service Scholarships based on the following criteria:
- Applicants must be KPU students who have not yet graduated and have declared a Psychology major.
- Applicants must have achieved a minimum GPA of 2.0.
- Applicants must demonstrate the greatest service to the Department of Psychology.
Applicants must provide a description of their service contributions to the Department of Psychology and attach it as outlined below.
The categories of service valued for this award include:
- Contributions to activities that build a sense of community among KPU Psychology students (e.g., KPS leadership).
- Contributions to activities that educate or engage students in Psychology (e.g., hosting student seminars or events to help students plan their future in Psychology).
- In addition, the following activities will be considered:
- Activities that promote KPU Psychology to the broader community, both within and outside of KPU (e.g., recruitment activities in high schools).
- Activities that support KPU Psychology teaching, research, and applied labs (e.g., data entry in the Lifespan Cognition Lab; working in the Surrey Psychology Lab).
Applicants must complete the application below and either upload their reference letter or ask their referee to send a brief email to the Department Assistant at psychology@kpu.ca.
The application must include the following (approximately two pages):

- A description of the range of service work you have been involved in and its impact.
- An estimate of the total number of hours committed to each category of service (see above), indicating whether the work was volunteer or paid.

- A reference letter that speaks to your service work.
