Accommodation Information:

All details of Abertay accommodation can be found here: https://www.abertay.ac.uk/accommodation/

Students will be prioritized for a place in Abertay accommodation (if they apply for it) up to a certain deadline for each semester (which they will be notified of following the application process). Students are also welcome to look for privately owned student accommodation (e.g. house or flat share with other students), so they do not have to stay in Abertay accommodation.

Cost of Living:Generally £300-400 per month for accommodation, overall living cost approx. 10% cheaper than the whole of the UK, and 20% cheaper than London. Dundee is an affordable place to live. It’s a relatively small city so easy to get around by walking or public transport. More info here: https://www.abertay.ac.uk/study-apply/money-fees-and-funding/living-costs-and-budgeting/
Visa Information:

Currently, students from Canada studying for less than 6 months (i.e. for one semester) in the UK do not have to apply for a separate visa, but must go to a manned desk at immigration on first port of entry in the UK to get a Short Term Student Stamp (to allow them to stay for up to 6 months): PDF icon Short Term Student Stamp Fact Sheet.pdf

Students can check if they need a UK visa here by answering 3 short questions.

For students studying for a full academic year, a visa is usually required, and more information can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/study-visit-visa
