Summer Schools

Summer Schools are short term programs about 2-6 weeks in length between May to August that are organized by a partner University or Organization.

NOTE: Summer 2024 program applications have closed. Check back in the winter for updates for 2025 programs. Email internationalprograms@kpu.ca or book an appointment to best plan ahead and have your questions answered

Application

 Please send all complete application documents to internationalprograms@kpu.ca by the deadline of the opportunity (ex Feb 27, 2024). As long as all the documents are complete by the deadline and there are no concerns students will be nominated and supported to move forward for the program with the partner University.

  1. Book an advising appointment on Advisor Connect  
    - Select "Study Abroad" and "Sarah Burn" (the Outbound Study Abroad Coordinator). 
    - Select Location as "ONLINE". In person appointments are available on Surrey campus Mondays or Tuesdays. 
  2. Unofficial transcript. Go here here for a youtube tutorial on how to find and save your KPU transcript as a pdf. 
  3. Complete this: 

  4. Have 1 Faculty Reference Form completed by a professor. Kindly ask your professor to email the reference before the deadline to internationalprograms@kpu.ca*If you are applying for scholarships, 2 reference forms are needed.  
 *You are able to apply for funding and scholarship awards to cover fees. Application for the award is due at the same time as the opportunity. See Funding and Awards section for more information or email for details. 
 *NOTE to Business Students: Melville School of Business (MSOB) will provide a $500 scholarship to KPU Study Abroad accepted Business students (max 3 students) to support their summer study abroad program. This is open for domestic or international students. KPU Study abroad will provide details after the application deadline and committee review.

Munich Business Summer School

An exciting cultural program that will make your stay an unforgettable experience. Company visits around southern Germany.

Switzerland

Swiss Business Summer School 

Features field trips to Swiss companies and a guided tour of Basel as well as excursions to cultural and historical sites in the city.

Japanese tea house

Ishikawa Japanese Studies Program (IJSP)

The Ishikawa Japanese Studies Program is aimed at groups of working adults or university students from foreign countries who are learning Japanese. It gives participants the opportunity to study about and experience Japanese language and culture while participating in a home stay program.
