Online Orientation Course
Learn valuable and practical information about starting your studies like how to get your books, what services are available to you, the upass, and your KSA Health and Dental plan through our Online Orientation Course.
- Complete at your own pace:
- Complete Online Orientation by May 27th to be entered to win up to a $500 tuition waiver!
*This course is designed for domestic and international students. It is mandatory for all new incoming international students.

Live Virtual Orientation
Join the KPU Community to get ready for the beginning of your journey here at KPU. Get your questions answered in real time and celebrate the upcoming semester with the rest of the new incoming class. To attend the sessions, please click the links below on the date and time listed.
Session 1: All Incoming Students
Monday, April 11, 2022 at 9:30 to 10:30 am (PDT)
Session 2: All Incoming International Students
Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 8:00 to 9:30 am (PDT)
*Both sessions are mandatory for international students.

- Register for a 2-hour on-campus portion of Orientation at either the Surrey, Langley, or Richmond campus. This opportunity includes a 30-minute campus tour!
- Once you register, the event details will be sent to your student email close to event dates.
* Registration is required to attend.

One week of flexible programming and activities open to ALL first-year students registered in classes in ANY program.
We have curated a fun list of activities for our new students to participate in, have fun, learn new skills, and MAKE NEW FRIENDS!

International Students
International students are required to attend both Live Orientation Sessions listed above. We highly encourage all new international students to attend KPU Welcomes You if you are in Canada.
Visiting and Exchange Students
Please attend both Live Virtual Orientation sessions. If you are in Canada, we highly encourage you to attend KPU Welcomes You.
KPU Tech Students
Trades students are encouraged to attend Live Virtual Orientation. Though KPU Welcomes You will not take place at KPU Tech, we invite you to KPU Welcomes You on May 3rd, 4th & 5th.
Students with Disabilities
KPU offers Orientation programs that adapt to the needs of all KPU students, including students with disabilities. KPU is happy to provide modified orientations for students with individual needs on the day of the event, or on a later date by request.
Preparing for Orientation
- Pre-order your KPU Card (Student ID) online. You can order your card up to one month before the start of classes.
- Order your books online at bookstore.kwantlen.ca
- Check on your program/Faculty website to see if you have an additional Program Orientation or Information Session to attend.
International & Exchange Students: If in Canada, you must submit your study permit to KPU International, and prior to Orientation, you must purchase your medical insurance through KPU Online Self Service (For more information about medical insurance)
