Welcome to KPU!
Our goal is to help you excel during your time at KPU and beyond, whether you are a first-year student, returning to university after time away, or journeying from the other side of the globe. We recognize that joining a university community can be overwhelming, so our orientation process is designed to support students in accomplishing their goals.
New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation is our flagship welcome event at KPU. This event is to welcome new students to the KPU community, get to know the physical campus, and meet new people. It is an opportunity to familiarize yourself with all of the services and resources KPU has available to help you succeed. We host New Student Orientation before the start of each semester (Fall, Sumer, Spring).
Next Upcoming Orientation is:
Summer New Student Orientation

KPU Orientation Highlights
Curious about what to expect at New Student Orientation? Watch this highlight video to get an idea of the activities and learning! Students spend the day in faculty-based groups, led by student leaders. Students will get to know campus and find their classrooms, learn about KPU services and take care of essentials, meet new friends, and have fun along the way.
Online Orientation Course
KPU Online Orientation is a self-paced Moodle course designed for new students. Any new student can self-enroll and explore the course at their own pace, on their own time. The course is accessible all throughout your first-year so that you can refer to the information whenever you might need it.
Online Orientation is packed with information that we know new students are looking for, and provides helpful tips and strategies to help you thrive. Examples of the type of information you can find in the course is:
- How to navigate through Moodle, KPU’s online learning platform
- Important dates and deadlines and where to access support
- How to get to campus and information on parking and public transit
- Detailed information on campus services and where to access them
- Opportunities to get involved on campus and upcoming events
- What you need to feel prepared for your first week of classes and decoding university terms (what is a credit?, how to read your timetable, etc.)
Online Orientation
Mandatory for all new incoming international students.
Online Orientation is expected to launch in June.
