"After graduating with a Bachelor of Design degree in Fashion and Technology in 2006, I was the youngest of the 12 finalists featured on the reality television show Project Runway Canada. I applied my Kwantlen education and built a fast-tracking career in fashion design.
In 2007, I started my own company and launched my clothing line, Carlie Wong. My collections have been showcased on the runways of high profile fashion shows including L'Oreal Fashion Week and LG Fashion Week in Toronto, as well as in premier fashion publications such as Elle Canada, Flare Magazine and Fashion Magazine. In the future, I plan to expand my business by selling my line in boutiques internationally.
I credit Kwantlen's intensive fashion design curriculum and extensive industry partnerships for my success. My university experience enabled me to develop strong couturier skills and acquire keen business acumen, all of which are fundamental to my fashion career. My experience at Kwantlen was exceptional. The faculty are very knowledgeable in the fashion fields and they bring industry experience to the classroom. I'm glad I chose Kwantlen because the education gave me the knowledge and skills to start my own fashion design business."
