KPU’s Anthropology program has an applied focus with an eye towards using your skills to help a range of communities.

For Archaeology, our graduates work for some of the top-rated archaeology firms.

In Cultural Anthropology, our graduates have worked for museums and also conducted ethnographic research for non-profit organizations.

In B.C., First Nations communities are very busy and, at times, have contract positions available.  Additionally, we are very pleased to have alumni, Ashley Doyle, working with Kwantlen First Nation at Seyem’ as the Land and Stewardship Manager. https://labrc.com/first-nation/kwantlen/

We have also had students go on and study at the Master’s level, for continued studies.

Intercultural competence is a value-add in any job-related situation.  Anthropology is helpful in developing a different mindset that can be useful in everyday life and job opportunities across various fields.  Anthropological viewpoints are especially helpful in business dealings which may involve cross-cultural values and behaviors.  Honoring the diverse traditions across the globe, or in your own city, can open up connections and experiences that might otherwise be overlooked.

Many Anthropology students also take a Major or Minor in Criminology, Sociology, Policy Studies, NGO and Nonprofit Studies and Nursing.
