
Apply to Graduate
Apply to graduate once you begin your final term and confirm your eligibility by reviewing your My Action Plan (MAP) audit. If your program is not listed in the Apply to Graduate module within your Student Profile, or you are receiving an error in submitting your application, please apply to graduate using the PDF Graduation and Convocation Application form. All students must apply to graduate, even if they do not plan to attend convocation.
Graduation Checklist
- Transfer credits, if applicable: If you are transferring courses, ensure they are processed by KPU prior to the grade submission deadline of your final term. After submitting your graduation application, notify graduation@kpu.ca about your pending transfer credit evaluation.
- Complete all program requirements: Students must successfully complete all program requirements set by Senate and in accordance with Policy AC14, KPU Credential Framework.
- Fulfill minimum GPA requirements: Students must meet the minimum GPA requirements in accordance with Policy AC14, KPU Credential Framework, or as specified by their program.
- Fulfill residency requirements: Students must fulfill the residency requirements in accordance with Policy AC14, KPU Credential Framework.
- Clear all financial obligations: All financial obligations (tuition, fees, etc.) must be settled before the credential is conferred.

Next Steps
Graduation Application Review
- The Graduation team will assess graduation applications to ensure students are on track to meet graduation requirements.
- Final evaluation will take place after all final grades have been submitted.
Final Qualifying Process
- Final qualifying begins after all grades are received and may extend until the Senate submission deadline.
- Important: All holds must be cleared prior to final qualifying.
- Status Updates: Your My Action Plan (MAP) audit header will display your application and hold status.
Graduation Roll & Credential Issuance
- The Graduation Roll is updated after each Senate meeting, typically within two days, to include all new graduates.
- Credentials will be put in the mail within 10 business days after the Senate meeting.
- Ensure your mailing address is current by reviewing your Contact Information through the Update Personal Information card in MyKPU. For details on how to update your personal and contact information, visit kpu.ca/ses/personal-information.
- It is imperative that you inform graduation@kpu.ca once you have updated your mailing address to ensure it is updated for graduation purposes.
- KPU is not responsible for lost, damaged, or delayed credentials due to mail service. If your credential is lost or damaged, you may request a replacement using the Duplicate Graduation Credential Request form for a $25 fee.
International Students: Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) Letters
Post-Graduate Work Permanent (PGWP) letters will be sent to you directly from KPU International. Contact KPU International by email at InternationalStudents@kpu.ca if you have questions.
