Dean's Message

Shelley BoydWelcome to the Faculty of Arts

When you join the Faculty of Arts, you will have opportunities to run with the ideas that inspire you!

As the largest Faculty at KPU, we offer an exciting range of programs spanning over 21 departments in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Whether you are planning to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major and minor, a certificate, a diploma, an honours degree, or a graduate certificate, the Faculty of Arts provides exceptional learning experiences. You will develop and deepen your critical thinking and communication skills, creative problem-solving, and social engagement. At KPU, we believe that the value of an Arts degree is limitless – it both creates and enhances the possibilities for your future career and life aspirations.

As a student in the Faculty of Arts, you will enjoy and actively contribute to a thriving university community. You will discover the advantages of our small class sizes, build connections with your fellow students, and appreciate the deep care and expertise of your instructors. You will benefit from experiential learning both within and beyond the classroom through hands-on activities, internships, practicums, and co-op programs. You may choose to venture out into the world or local communities through international field-schools, exchanges, fieldtrips, or collaborative online international learning. At KPU, you can experience the many advantages of a liberal arts education by pursuing diverse academic interests, participating in extracurricular events and student clubs, exhibiting and performing your creative works, collaborating on research with your instructors, addressing the pressing issues of our time, and pursuing social justice as engaged citizens.

With the sought-after skills and hands-on learning opportunities afforded through the Faculty of Arts, our graduates go on to pursue careers in their chosen fields, graduate studies, and further professional training.

We are delighted you have chosen the Faculty of Arts.  We extend a warm welcome as you pursue exciting pathways of learning and discover what most inspires you!
