Students are expected to meet all course prerequisites and co-requisites as listed below. Waivers may be requested if you can clearly demonstrate that you have the equivalent skills and knowledge. Students are responsible for completing the "Permission to Register" form and presenting it to the appropriate person, listed below, for signature.

Inquiries regarding prerequisite waivers for all Biology courses may be directed to the Chairs of the Biology Department ( Carl.Whitney@kwantlen.ca or Greg.Harris@kwantlen.ca ). Please note that the Biology Department does not normally grant waivers to students who do not have the required course prerequisite standards.

Biology Lab Periods: At Surrey and Richmond, each student taking BIOL 1110 or BIOL 1210 are expected to spend an average of 5 to 7 hours in the Biology lab each week in addition to the seminar, including the first week of classes. Lab time is not necessarily consecutive, but must fall within the lab hours posted on the lab door. It is imperative that students registering in the first week of classes for a Biology course contact the instructor of the course without delay. Students must report to the Biology lab as early as possible during the week beginning Monday, May 7th, attend the first week's class and complete the first week's course work by Friday, May 11th .
