Co-op Dates and Deadlines

Co-op Applications

Starting in Fall 2025, Co-op applications are accepted year-round, and you can apply anytime. If you are enrolled in COOP 1101, make sure to submit your application by the Co-op Requirements Deadline listed below.

Co-op Requirements Deadline

While you are enrolled in COOP 1101, you must complete all Co-op requirements by the deadline below to be considered for the Co-op program.

 CO-OP REQUIREMENTS DEADLINE
 Session OneSession Two
Fall 2025September 21, 2025November 16, 2025
Spring 2026January 25, 2026March 29, 2026
Summer 2026May 31, 2025July 26, 2026

After the deadline, the Co-op team will complete a Co-op Requirements Review to confirm whether you have met the criteria to continue in the Co-op program and gain access to job postings.

See COOP 1101 for the list of Co-op requirements that must be completed during COOP 1101.

Earliest Work Term

Your earliest possible Co-op work term depends on when you complete COOP 1101 and whether you’ve met all the other Co-op program requirements.

Example: If you complete COOP 1101 in Fall 2025, Session 1 (first half of the term), and meet all Co-op requirements, you may begin applying for jobs as early as the second half of the Fall semester. That means your earliest possible work term could be Spring 2026.

If you complete COOP 1101 in Session 2, your job search window may not align with the start of the Spring term, so the earliest possible work term may shift to Summer 2026.

Refer to the table below to determine the earliest possible Co-op work term based on when you complete COOP 1101. This helps you plan ahead and make sure you’re meeting all key deadlines.

Note: Completing COOP 1101 alone does not guarantee a work term. You must also meet all other program and documentation requirements — and secure a placement before the term begins.

Co-op Work Term Registration

Once you’ve secured a Co-op placement, you’ll need to register for your Co-op work term course (e.g., COOP 1150, 2150, 3150, 4150) through KPU’s standard course registration system, following your assigned registration date for the upcoming semester. For details about work term expectations, responsibilities, and support throughout your placement, visit the Co-op Work Term page.

Note: If you’re returning to a previous Co-op employer or extending a placement, you still need to register for the appropriate work term course. The Co-op office may register you if it hasn’t been done by the deadline.

Visit KPU's Registration Dates page for the latest timelines and assigned registration windows
