Library Services for Alumni

Alumni are those granted a degree, honorary degree, diploma, certificate or citation by Kwantlen College, Kwantlen University College, or Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

Library Privileges

  • To get a free KPU Card, present government issued photo identification with current address information at any library Service Counter.
  • Your KPU Card is a permanent card.  You are responsible for all items borrowed and any charges accrued on your KPU Card.
  • Loans of general collection items: 3 week loan, 1 renewal, 5 items at a time. Overdue fines are charged.
  • On site use of journals, DVDs, research databases; off site access to some research databases as identified below.
  • Off site access to Open Access content by searching in Summon. Click on Advanced Summon Search to limit your search to "Open Access Items Only".
  • Only current students have access to course reserves, interlibrary loan, study rooms and equipment.
  • Holds & Transferring Library Materials Between Campuses.
  • My Library Account.

Database Access

  • All research database are available to alumni on campus from guest stations.
  • Off site access is available for the open access databases on this list.
  • Alumni can use their KPU Banner ID and password to sign in when prompted to access the resources.

Computer Access

Alumni may use the Express Stations in each library.  Please review the Express Station Guidelines.

Wifi is available.

Notices

All Library notices are emailed to the email account you provide. Check regularly for information on your holds, overdues & recalls.

What if someone else puts a hold on my book?
You will not be able to renew it; if it goes overdue, you will be fined. You can find more information on fines at https://kpu.ca/library/services/library-fines.
