Ishikawa Japanese Studies Program (IJSP)
The Ishikawa Japanese Studies Program is aimed at groups of working adults or university students from foreign countries who are learning Japanese. It gives participants the opportunity to study about and experience Japanese language and culture while participating in a home stay program.

How to Apply?
Please send all complete application documents to internationalprograms@kpu.ca by the deadline of the opportunity (ex Feb 27, 2024). As long as all the documents are complete by the deadline and there are no concerns students will be nominated and supported to move forward for the program with the partner University.
Step 1: Book an advising appointment
- - Select "Study Abroad" and "Nicole Shearer" (the Outbound Study Abroad Coordinator).
- Select Location as "ONLINE". In person appointments are available on Surrey campus Tuesdays or Thursdays.
Step 2: Prepare for the Application Documents

- Have 1 Faculty Reference Form completed by a professor. Kindly ask your professor to email the reference before the deadline to internationalprograms@kpu.ca. *If you are applying for scholarships, 2 reference forms are needed.

Check out this an amazing 5-week hybrid global learning experience with Indigenous students at KPU and Edith Cowan University (ECU), Australia. You will participate in online sessions from Elders, scholars, and community members covering topics such as culture, history, language revitalization, place and identity, resurgence, futurisms and Indigenous sovereignty.
