Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) and Nottingham Trent University (NTU) have established a degree pathway agreement that allows KPU students to seamlessly progress from a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from KPU to MA Criminology at NTU, and from a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from KPU to an MSc Psychology (see below the list of programs) at NTU, allowing you the opportunity to graduate with a Master degree from a reputable UK institution after just one year of study.

Both criminology and psychology programs are offered by the School of Social Sciences at NTU and the school boasts strong international reputation and ranking in many of its subject areas.

Entry Criteria for NTU Courses

KPU Students will receive an offer of entry on the Course and must fulfil the following entry requirements:
1. Successful completion of the KPU course with a minimum CGPA of :
MA Criminology - 2.7 CGPA
MSc Applied Child Psychology - 3.0 CGPA
MSc Behavioral Data Science - 2.7 CGPA
MSc Forensic Mental Health - 2.7 CGPA
MSc Psychological Well-Being and Mental Health - 2.7 CGPA
MSc Psychological Research Methods - 3.0 CGPA
MSc Cyberpsychology - 2.7 CGPA
and
2. English Language requirements Waived: KPU Degree Accepted as Proof of Proficiency. 

Tuition Fees for Courses:

Students enrolling on the Course at NTU shall be liable for the following fees when they enroll at NTU:

  • A fee for " English for Academic Purposes Course" (If applicable); and
  • Tuition fees payable as advertised on the NTU website at here

Financial Incentives and Scholarships for KPU Students at NTU

Through our partnership with Nottingham Trent University (NTU), Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) students have access to three distinct financial incentives as they advance their education:

Pathway Discount: Students receive a £3,000 reduction on tuition fees for their first year of study at NTU.

NTU Excellence Scholarships: Scholarships covering 25% or 50% of tuition fees are available.

*Important Note: In cases where students qualify for more than one discount or scholarship, only the single highest discount or scholarship will be applied to reduce tuition fees, ensuring the greatest financial benefit.

Master's Programs:

Alumni Discount: NTU alumni who progress to Master's study benefit from a fee discount. Currently set at 20% for (2025/2026).

Application Process for Pathway Students

Make an Application.

Apply the dedicated application link or the QR Code to ensure the £3,000 discount is applied to your tuition. NTU encourages students to apply by May 31st to ensure there is sufficient time to process the visa application.

Book Accommodation

The booking window for university residences opens in early February. To ensure your preferred room, NTU recommends booking as early as possible. This advice specifically pertains to university residences. For students choosing off-campus housing, it is equally important to begin your search early to ensure you find suitable accommodations.

Affordable accommodation options tend to fill up quickly. NTU encourages students to apply early in the year to secure the best choices. 

Complete your Conditions

  • Upload your supporting documents (passport/transcript) to the application portal.
  • Once you accept your offer, you will be required to make a £6,000 advance payment on your fees. This payment must be submitted to complete your acceptance process and receive your official letter of acceptance.

Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies

Once you have fulfilled all the conditions, Nottingham Trent University (NTU) will issue you a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) letter, and you can proceed to secure your Student Visa.

Health surcharge

Please note that the annual healthcare cost, currently £776 (as at 2025/2026), is an additional expense on top of tuition and living costs. You will be required to cover this cost yourself. Upon arrival, ensure you register with the University doctor or a local doctor near your residence.

Working in the UK

Part-Time Work

Your student visa entitles you to work up to 20 hours per week term-time, and full-time during holidays.  However, it's important not to rely solely on income from part-time work for financial support. Additionally, immigration policies can change, so we recommend staying in contact with NTU for the most up-to-date information on work permissibility.
