Global Partnerships Series
At KPU, global engagement isn’t just an aspiration; it’s something we do every day. KPU International’s Office of Global Engagement developed the Global Partnerships Series to create space for KPU faculty and staff to come together, share experiences, and explore new opportunities for international collaborations.
Through these interactive online sessions, participants can learn how global partnerships take shape, discover how the Office of Global Engagement can support their international initiatives, connect directly with partners and funders, and gain inspiration for turning ideas into impactful projects.
We created this series for the KPU community - to spark connections, conversations, and possibilities that extend beyond borders.
Partnerships for Goals
This Partnerships Series echoes the spirit of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, advancing knowledge exchange, innovation, and capacity-building through education and collaboration.
Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17) is often called the “enabler goal” of the UN Sustainable Development Agenda, as it focuses on how global progress is achieved—through knowledge sharing, capacity building in science and technology, and cross-border collaboration. At KPU, initiatives like the Global Partnerships Series embody these principles by creating space for dialogue, storytelling, and knowledge exchange.

Each Global Partnerships Series session is a one-hour virtual gathering focused on developing international initiatives and supporting KPU’s ongoing internationalization efforts. We tailor the content based on feedback and interests from KPU faculty and staff—so your input helps shape the conversations and themes. Global Partnership Series- Session 3: Academics Without Borders
We are delighted to welcome you to our Global Partnerships Series – Academics Without Borders session. This engaging lunch-hour event features Corrie Young, Associate Executive Director – Projects & Network at Academics Without Borders (AWB), and Andrew Dean, former Vice-President of Research and Innovation at Lakehead University. Corrie highlights AWB’s impactful international initiatives and faculty mobility opportunities, while Andrew shares his experience as an AWB volunteer supporting the University of Saint Joseph Mbarara, Uganda, through the development of a research policy.
